En un post anterior había añadido nuevos repositorios al modo oficial de opensuse. Los que vamos a añadir en esta ocasión son repositorios donde se encuentran paquetes extras.
Esto que sigue es una traducción de algunos fragmentos de the Jem Report.

Pasos para añadir repositorios:
1. Abrir el Centro de Control (YaST) que está en el submenú Sistema.
2. Elegir la opción Software, ya viene preseleccionada por defecto.
3. Pinchar en la opción de la derecha: “Cambiar fuente de instalación”
4. Aquí veréis en un listado el modo que hayáis utilizado para instalar OpenSuse. Es decir CD o DVD. Debajo aparecen unos botones para Añadir, Editar, Borrar y en la parte derecha otros botones, de los cuales los más importantes son “Activar o desactivar“, que sirve para la columna del Estado de la fuente y el otro botón “Activar o desactivar actualizaciones“. Con este se pretende que el sistema compruebe si en esta fuente hay paquetes actualizados o no. Vosotros juzgaréis, pero por ejemplo los CDs o DVD, tras la actualización de Internet, ya no los necesitaríais.
5. Vamos añadir las fuentes que vienen en la página the Jem Report Clic en el botón “Añadir“. Para la primera elegimos el protocolo  HTTP y  copiamos en  Nombre del Servidor 
packman.rsync.zmi.at/suse/10.0
Directorio en el servidor lo dejamos en blanco. Jem Matzan recomienda que si no funciona este repositorio se siga este enlace para otros repositorios: Enlace
6. Añadimos otros repositorios con el mismo sistema, pero ahora usamos el protocolo FTP. Y los repositorios son estos:
mirrors.kernel.org/opensuse/distribution/SL-10.0-OSS/inst-source-java mirrors.kernel.org/opensuse/distribution/SL-10.0-OSS/inst-source mirrors.kernel.org/suse/i386/10.0/SUSE-Linux10.0-GM-Extra
7. Por último se cambia la opción de la columna Actualizar a Activado con los botones mencionados antes.
Ahora ya podréis actualizar programas como Tunderbird, soporte de Java, de Flash, Windows Media, MP3, RealMedia etc.

Adding sources to YaST
First you’ll need to add some software repositories to your YaST installation sources list. Go into the YaST utility by clicking on the green Gecko menu in the lower left corner of your screen. Select System, then click on Control Center (YaST). You’ll be prompted for your root password. Go ahead and type it in, check the box next to Keep Password, and click OK.You’re now in YaST, and the Software category is already selected by default. Click on the Installation Source icon. This will bring up a window that will allow you to add software repositories so that you can download the add-on software. You’ll notice that your CD or DVD installation media is already listed. Go ahead and disable it by clicking the Enable Or Disable button—we’re going to add an Internet address that will replace your discs. That way if you need to add software from the CDs or DVD, you can get the packages from the Internet instead of putting a disc into your computer. If you need to, you can just as easily enable the CD/DVD source later.
Click the Add button, then click on HTTP in the popup menu. Add the following Internet address to the Server Name field and then click on OK:
packman.rsync.zmi.at/suse/10.0
If that repository link does not work, you can choose one of the mirrors from this list.Now repeat this process and add the following servers to your installation sources using the FTP option instead of HTTP:  mirrors.kernel.org/opensuse/distribution/SL-10.0-OSS/inst-source-java  mirrors.kernel.org/opensuse/distribution/SL-10.0-OSS/inst-source  mirrors.kernel.org/suse/i386/10.0/SUSE-Linux10.0-GM-Extra
Now next to all of your new software sources, change the Refresh option to On. You can do this by selecting each source and clicking on the Refresh On Or Off button. The default is Off, so you’ll have to change all of the entries.
Without adding the preceding sources and ordering them to refresh, it will not be possible to follow the next three steps. You can now close the Installation Source window.
